Application Due Dates

Funds may be used for the purchase, installation and construction of energy efficiency improvements, such as:
- High efficiency heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems (HVAC).
- Insulation.
- Lighting.
- Cooling or refrigeration units.
- Doors and windows.
- Electric, solar or gravity pumps for sprinkler pivots.
- Switching from a diesel to electric irrigation motor.
- Replacement of energy-inefficient equipment.
- Projector Equipment – Note, upgrading to an energy efficient projector is not a common use of these funds but it is possible. A certified estimate of the energy savings must be included in the application.
- Some local utilizes provide an energy assessment/audit to establish a baseline and a result of the assessment may include other energy equipment replacements that can be included in the grant request.
Other Helpful Facts:
- You can apply for either a grant or loan or a hybrid of both. Max amount is $1.5mil
- Must be registered with SAM.gov. If your SAM registration needs to renewed, must do that before applying for the REEI grant.
- Smaller the grant request the better chance of receiving it. LED lighting and solar energy most popular grant request.
- Loans are for large projects, $500,000 or more.
- Grant can be renewed annually until program funds are depleted. Estimated depletion is year 2030.

Nevada Locations Information The Nevada Rural Energy for America Program (NREAP) is a U.S. Department of Agriculture technical assistance grant administered by the Governor’s Office of Energy. This program provides development assistance for small businesses and agricultural producers in Nevada’s rural counties. Interested applicants are encouraged to contact the Nevada State Energy Coordinator, Laura Chavez, well in advance of the March 31, 2024 application deadline to discuss their project and ask any questions about the REAP program or the application process.
